The 2008 BMW X3 3.0si SAV has been described as an uncompromised middle ground. The X3 has xDrive and a 6-cylinder engine that puts out 260-horse power. The xDrive is an intelligent all-wheel drive system that at rapid speeds sends power to the wheels with the surest footing. In doing so, it provides for better traction and handling in all surfaces, and road conditions.
Another feature that helps the driver in keeping a grip on the road is the available Hill Descent Control, which can be activated by pressing a button on the console. HDC then gently applies the brakes, as necessary, to help reduce the speed to a nearly constant 3-6 mph.
The 2008 X3 also offers several standard safety features, including a head protection system for front and rear passengers, dual front airbags and passenger sensors, and a crash sensor that alerts other drivers when the vehicle has been involved in an accident. LATCH attachments also are included for child-restraint safety installation.
The appearance of the X3 is impressive, and contributing to the appearance are exterior features like halogen free-form foglights, roof rails and door handles in matching body color. Inside, there’s Ash Dark Wood trim and a 3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with fingertip cruise control.
Features like the ‘08 X3’s anthitheft AM/FM CD system with MP3 playback capability and 8 speakers, and satellite radio capability, show that this BMW will keep the occupants entertained. There’s also HD radio available, which features broadcast in crystal-clear digital sound and offer innovative data services, such as song artist and title scrolling across the screen.
BMW’s 2008 X3 3.0si SAV is a vehicle that combines control, technology and safety, and will likely be a very attractive model to BMW buyers this year.
