2008 Chevrolet Equinox ReviewThe 2008 Chevrolet Equinox is a well- rounded vehicle packed with amazing new features that promise favorable interior design, fuel efficiency, increased power handling, and superb comfort.

The ‘08 Equinox seats five and comes in four trim levels, which include LS, LT, LTZ, and Sport. The LS comes standard with 16- inch aluminum wheels, a roof rack, air- conditioning, a sliding 60/40-split-folding rear seat, a flat-fold front passenger seat, cruise control, automatic headlights, a driver information center, and a CD player with an auxiliary audio jack. Meanwhile, the LT comes in two subsets, 1LT and 2LT. 1LT includes body-color exterior trim, rear privacy glass, premium cloth upholstery, and leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio control. On the other hand, the 2LT adds 17-inch chrome-plated wheels, foglamps, remote engine start, a power driver seat, an auto-dimming rear view window and satellite radio. The LTZ includes chrome exterior trim, leather trimmed seating, heated front seats, an in-dash six-CD changer and a Pioneer sound system. However, the Sport model adds a larger V6, 18-inch aluminum wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and sport bolstered seats.

The 2008 Chevy Equinox comes with a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Except for the Sport model, they are equipped with the standard 3.4-liter V6 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission and a horsepower of 185 and 210 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the Sport model is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 with 264 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. All models are fuel efficient and possess 3,500 pounds of towing capacity.

Safety features of the Equinox include antilock disc brakes, traction control, stability control, and OnStar. It earned a five-star rating in frontal and side-impact tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
