2008 Chrysler Town & Country ReviewA reinvention of the minivan – that’s one description of the new 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. One of many impressive new features that bring practicality to the inside include the Swivel’n Go Seating, which swivels second-row seating 180 degrees to make easier conversations and games. There’s also an available removable table with this seating system.

The ‘08 Town & Country isn’t a hybrid vehicle per se, but is still friendly to the environment. Its Flex Fuel feature allows it to accept E85, a mix of ethanol (85%) and gasoline (15%). Not only is this good for our surroundings, but it also boosts performance and reduces emissions. This van’s V6 engine puts out 175-horse power, giving it some good oomph for this type of vehicle. Fuel economy isn’t bad either, with a possible 24 mpg on the highway.

A standard alarm system, using lights and sounds, adds security to the 2008 Town & Country, while tire pressure monitoring eases minds on long trips. This available system alerts the driver if levels become critically low. Standard airbags, at the front top and side of this van, protect passengers in dangerous situations. There’s also an Emergency Accident Response System, letting other drivers know the vehicle was recently involved in a wreck and help is needed.

It’s no surprise that this Chrysler is spacious, but that can make maneuvering a bit of a challenge at times. That task is made easier with the standard ParkView rear backup camera, which displays an image of what is behind the vehicle, avoiding mishaps. Other interior conveniences include three-zone automatic temperature control and Uconnect, a hands-free telephone communication system.

Entertainment is important when going on a ride, and passengers won’t be disappointed with the Town & Country’s AM/FM CD player with MP3 playback capability with a fixed long-mast antenna and instrument panel storage bin. Also available is a SIRUS backseat TV and satellite radio capability, and a rear dual DVD entertainment system.

Chrysler’s 2008 Town & Country is a model that combines technology, safety and practicality, making it a very appealing ride this year.
