Power and handling that commands performance – that’s one description of the new 2008 Infinity M. This sporty model’s impressive rear active steer does more than merely translate engine power. It reacts to steering input and vehicle speed, and in doing so alters the angle of the rear wheels to help the vehicle turn more quickly and precisely.
The ‘08 Infiniti M is available with a V8 engine that generates 325-horse power, or a V6 engine with 275-horse power – both options showing this model has the capacity for high performance.
Though a sporty ride, the Infinity M keeps safety in mind. Infinity includes an advanced airbag system in each M, containing dual front airbags with passenger sensors and active head restraints to reduce whiplash injuries. An impressive new feature is the Lane Departure Prevention, and the M is the first model to have this option. LDP uses a camera to measure distances between the vehicle and lane borders, and if the model moves unintentionally towards these markings, there will be an audible alert and brake pressure will then be applied to veer the car back into its lane safely.
LED taillights, stainless steel door-sill plates and a power sliding tinted glass moonroof with one-touch open/close, tilt feature and sliding sunshade add to the striking appearance of the M. Inside, interior comfort is provided with dual-zone automatic temperature control with filtration.
Passengers are entertained with the audio system, which includes six speakers and an AM/FM radio, satellite radio capabilities, a 6-disc in-dash CD changer and WMA/MP3 playback capability. Bluetooth capability also is available.
Infinity’s 2008 M is a vehicle that combines luxury, a unique appearance and high performance, making it a high-desired ride for buyers this year.
