2008 Jaguar S-TYPE 4.2 ReviewWith a little more power, the new 2008 Jaguar S-TYPE 4.2 has a V8 engine that gets 300 horse power, and there’s promise of galvanizing driving moments.

This model is stylish and innovative, and impressive new features include the standard rear park control, which uses ultrasonic sensors mounted in the rear bumper to detect objects in the vehicle’s path up to six feet away. An audible warning warns drivers to the proximity of objects when slowly backing up, and a touchscreen on the console provides information as to the location of these objects.

The ‘08 S-TYPE 4.2 has exterior features like 18-inch Vulcan wheels to thank for its striking appearance. Also contributing to the look is a chrome leaper hood ornament and bright-finish exhaust tips. There’s also bright-finish mesh grille insert, grille surround, mirror caps, bumper blades, side window trim and trunk plinth to add to the style of this ride.

The interior is just as stylish, with heated front seats wrapped in leather, with two-level temperature controls make it nearly impossible for the passengers to feel discomfort. A DVD-based navigation system adds to innovation in the S-TYPE 4.2, and Bluetooth capability comes standard in the model.

A 320-watt Alpine sound system comes standard, and it includes AM/FM radio, single in-dash CD-player and a 6-disc trunk-mounted CD changer. A dual-zone automatic climate control with filtration also is included in the S-TYPE 4.2.

Jaguar’s 2008 S-TYPE 4.2 is a mix of comfort, technology and safety, and luxury buyers will have a hard time passing this car up at sales events this year.
