The 2008 Jaguar S-TYPE R has been described as having pure muscle balanced with graceful beauty, and also has features offering convenience and safety. Impressive on the S-TYPE R this year is a radar-based adaptive cruise control, which senses changing traffic conditions and maintains a designated following interval with other vehicles. A forward alert tells the driver when traffic is slowing.
The ‘08 S-TYPE R is very secure, with a standard vehicle security system that makes it hard for this model to be stolen. It has an electronically-coded ignition key the engine recognizes, and when that key is not validated, an immobilization of the engine is activated so the vehicle will not start. Also working to make occupants feel safe are standard dual-stage chest airbags, side-impact protection and curtain-mounted airbags for rear occupants.
Adding to the suave look of the S-TYPE R are exterior features like 19-inch Barcelona wheels, stainless steel exhaust tips and a bright-finish mesh grille insert and trunk plinth, body-colored grille surround, mirror caps and bumper blades and black side window trim. There’s also a standard moonroof with one-touch open/close and anti-trap function.
Taking a look inside the vehicle, comfort is provided with heated front seats with two-level temperature control, a 60/40 split-fold rear seat and dual-zone automatic climate control with filtration. Entertainment keeps passengers occupied, with the S-TYPE R’s standard Alpine sound system with AM/FM radio, single in-dash CD player, and 6-disc trunk-mounted CD changer. Bluetooth technology also is standard.
Features like the S-TYPE R’s DVD navigation system, which uses a 7-inch touchscreen can locate most destinations and intersections, prove the innovation of this model. There’s also a reverse park control system that assists the driver by providing a view of behind the vehicle, alerting of objects that might be unseen to the driver, and alerting of the distance to those items from the vehicle.
Jaguar’s 2008 S-TYPE R is tech-savvy, safe and reliable, making it a possible must-have for this year’s luxury car buyers.
