2008 Jaguar XKR Convertible ReviewThe 2008 Jaguar XKR Convertible is both smart and fast, offering several features showing innovation and convenience. An impressive new feature is the Keyless Entry and Start, which unlocks the door as the driver approaches and starts the engine at the pushing the button, eliminating the need to first insert the key.

The ‘08 XKR Convertible also offers several standard safety features, including dual-stage chest airbags for front occupants, height-adjustable front safety belts and LATCH attachments for child-restraint safety seats.

Security is added with the Rollover Protection System, which protects occupants in the event of an accident. If the system detects a rollover, two aluminum bars housed behind the rear seats are deployed–whether the convertible top is up or down–and work in conjunction with the vehicle’s other safety systems to help provide enhanced protection.

Technology is abundant inside, and that is proven with features like the XKR Convertible’s 7-inch touchscreen, which displays information including audio, navigation, climate control, telephone and vehicle settings. There’s also a DVD-based navigation system that locates destinations and alerts the driver if there’s not enough fuel to reach the ending point of the trip.

Bluetooth capability also is available, and a multi-function steering wheel has telephone controls on the wheel, making this model even more convenient. Other controls on the steering wheel include cruise control and audio.

Adding power to the mix, the XKR Convertible’s V8 engine gets 300-horse power and uses a 6-speed ZF electronic automatic transmission.

Jaguar’s 2008 XKR Convertible is a combination of innovation, safety and luxury, making it a possible best-seller for Jaguar buyers this year.
