Power, style and class – these attributes are hard to find all in one vehicle, but Mercedes-Benz managed to fit them all into the new 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK550 Coupe. It is high performance with its V8 engine generating 382-horse power, using an adaptive 7-speed automatic transmission and driver-adaptive programming that adjusts shift points to the driver’s current style.

There’s also a fuel injection system, which can boost fuel economy. The ‘08 CLK550 Coupe gets an estimated 22 mpg on the highway.

Adding a secure feel to this ride is the Electronic Stability Program, which compares the driver’s intended course, via steering and braking inputs, to the vehicle’s response, via lateral acceleration, rotation or yaw and individual wheel speeds. If the system senses over or understeering, it corrects it by adjusting brake distribution and engine power. The system also employs traction control.

Standard safety features include an Integrated Restraint System, which includes dual-stage airbags for the front occupants and side-impact protection. There’s also a Universal LATCH system, helping to protect children, as it helps secure child safety seats.

Passengers are kept entertained with the audio program, including in-dash system operating panel that integrates controls and displays for the radio, CD player, glovebox-mounted 6-disc CD changer and satellite radio capability. Adding to comfort inside are leather upholstery, 60/40-split-folding rear seatbacks and flip-forward seat cushions and digital dual-zone climate control with dual digital temperature controls and rotary airflow distribution controls, automatic control of blower speed and airflow distribution.
