Power and efficiency are combined in the new 2008 Mercedes-Benz R320 CDI. This model has a V6 engine that generates 215-horse power, and uses a 7-speed automatic transmission with electronically controlled shifting, making the ride smoother. Also impressive is the Electronic Traction System, which monitors the speed of all four wheels to detect wheel slip, then applies individual brakes as needed.
The ‘08 R320 CDI, a crossover vehicle, gets 24 mpg on the highway, and also has direct fuel injection, which can boost fuel economy. This model also uses ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel, saving even more money at the gas station.
Working on the elegant appearance of the R320 CDI are exterior features like AMG bodystyling, halogen headlamps and front foglamps, and dual chrome exhaust tips. Convenient features include a liftgate assist, selectable light-sensing headlamps and programmable daytime running lamps.
Features like the SmartKey prove the presence of innovation in this model. This feature integrates controls like door unlock, liftgate unlock, panic alarm and power tailgate open/close. It can also open and close the windows using an infrared-remote function. Even more security is added with nighttime illumination that lights up a path from the vehicle after parking.
Safety is also a priority, as the R320 CDI comes with Universal LATCH, which helps to secure child safety seats. Front occupants are protected with dual-stage airbags, and there’s also side-impact and rollover protection. An occupant sensor also is present to determine if a passenger is in the seat, for the purpose of avoiding unnecessary airbag deployment.
The 2008 Mercedes-Benz R320 CDI is efficient, secure and stylish, making it a full package that will be hard to pass up this year.
