The new 2008 Mercedes-Benz S550 Sedan is more than a luxury car as it combines power, convenience and safety with its features. An impressive safety feature on this model is the Tele Aid System, which uses GPS satellites and a cellular link to provide 24-hour live assistance for emergency aid with an SOS button.
Also contributing to safety in the S550 are features such as an integrated restraint system, including dual-stage airbags that protect front occupants, a side-impact airbag and a 3-point seatbelt. Second-row passengers also have side-impact protection. PRE-SAFE is a feature in this model that prepares occupants for an accident before it even happens. If the system senses a possible collision based on brake pedal application pattern and steering-wheel input pattern, it will apply tension to the front seat belts and adjust the passenger seat.
Working on the sleek appearance of the ‘08 S550 Sedan are features including a power tilt/slide sunroof with tinted glass, halogen foglamps and bi-xenon low- and high-beam headlamps, and laminated infrared-reflecting glass helps reduce radiant heat, UV rays, and noise penetration. This ride not only drives in style, but also can keep up with the others on the road. Its V8 engine gets 382-horse power, going from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.
The inside is impressive as well, with comfort-providing features such as three-level heated seats and dual-zone automatic climate control with individual driver and front passenger control of temperature, speed, and airflow distribution.
Mercedes-Benz wrapped up technology, safety and luxury under the hood of the S550 Sedan, making it likely to be one of the most desired models this year.
