The 2008 Mercury Mariner delivers good road feel and response in addition to its superb handling and comfortable interior. Furthermore, it comes in a variety of trim levels which cater to different tastes of buyers.
The ‘08 Mariner is available in three trim levels namely the base inline-four, base V6 and Premier. The base trims come with 16-inch alloy wheels, foglights, privacy glass, air-conditioning, a four-speaker CD stereo with an auxiliary MP3 player input, full power accessories and keyless entry. Meanwhile, the Premium trim adds rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, a power driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, an in-dash CD changer and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. All Mariners are available in either front- or all-wheel drive. The Base Mariner are powered by a 2.3-liter inline-4 generating 153 horsepower and 152 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the base V6 and Premium models are powered by a 3.0-liter V6 good for 200 hp and 193 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come with a four-speed automatic transmission. In addition, its new electric power-steering system also adds a boost of power to this new vehicle.
The Mariner guarantees maximum protection with its standard safety equipment which include antilock brakes, tire-pressure monitor, traction control, stability control, front-seat side airbags and full length head curtain airbags with a rollover sensor. However, the Premium model adds a reverse-sensing parking system.
