Is the roof open or closed? If you can’t tell, neither will they. The new 2008 Porsche 911 Targa 4 uses a new roof concept that opens and closes the roof using a single control conveniently located on the center console. When opening, the roof panel is lowered slightly and can then be easily retracted to the required position – even when traveling at high speeds. The glass roof panel is made from high-strength laminated safety glass and offers excellent UV protection as well as added insulation in winter.
The ‘08 911 Targa 4 is powerful as well as innovative as its 3.6-liter, 6-cylinder engine nets 325-horse power and, using a 6-speed manual transmission with dual-mass flywheel and hydraulic clutch, can also let the driver switch between manual and automatic with the available Tiptronic S. This car is also friendly to the environment, getting an average 26 mpg on the highway.
Stainless steel exhaust pipes are available, and standard outside mirrors that adjust electronically give viewers something to look at on the exterior. Also, there’s been a 1.73-inch increase on the rear body, which improves synch of the model with new high-performance tires. There’s also plenty of space for storage. In addition to the 8.12 cubic feet of available space inside the car, the front luggage compartment has a 3.71 cubic-foot loadspace capacity lined with high-quality, scratch-resistant materials.
Entertainment comes in abundance in the 911 Targa 4, with features including the optional BOSE Surround Sound System. There’s also a 5.8-inch color display screen with the Porsche Communication Management, which offers instant access to a high-end tuner with CD player, a trip computer, and options ranging from GPS navigation.
The 2008 Porsche 911 Targa 4 is innovative, powerful and reliable, putting together a nice luxury package that will be highly desirable to this year’s buyer.
