The 2008 Porsche Boxster has been defined as the reinvented roadster, and every part of its appealing design plays a role in how smooth this model rides. The model is as safe as it is sleek, and has several standard features proving that fact.
The ‘08 Boxster’s 6-cylinder, ME Motronic 7.8 engine gets 245-horse power and uses a Porsche-optimized exhaust system also enhances the car’s breathing and, ultimately, its performance. There’s also an air intake system that results in higher rpm, flatter torque curve and more power at high rpm. The Boxster also has a five-speed Manual Gearbox, which balances ratios to match the car’s specific engine characteristics.
This Porsche has safety features including the following: two full-size advanced airbags in front, and a weight sensor in the passenger seat that automatically switches this airbag off when the seat is unoccupied or fitted with a child seat. There’s even safety engineered into the design. For instance, the front of the vehicle is bolstered by a transverse and longitudinal support beams. Three separate levels help channel impact forces around the passenger cell. For added safety, the fuel tank and fuel lines are positioned outside of the deformation area.
Contributing to the striking appearance of the Boxster are exterior features like its convertible top, which is made of colorfast fabric and is protected against UV rays. The top, perfectly matched to the car’s exterior design. It opens and closes in 12 seconds, and operates at speeds of 30 mph. The top also has a heated glass window that is wear-resistant, making this model a very convenient one.
Inside this model, features like the innovative seat design and steering wheel show this is a new generation of Boxsters. There’s a standard CDR-24 CD radio, CD autochanger, BOSE surround sound system, and a fiber-optic bus, which can provide significant improvement in sound reproduction. Optional on this model are additional amplifiers that power seven loudspeakers.
The new 2008 Porsche Boxster is a luxury vehicle combining new-age design, safety and reliability, making it likely to be one of the fastest cars to leave the lots this year.
