This year’s model as an impressive, standard Night Panel function which makes driving at night easier. At the push of a button, the system blanks out the entire instrument panel excluding the speedometer. When a function requires the driver’s attention, the relevant instrument lights up.

The ‘08 9-5 Aero Sedan is equipped with a 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder high output turbocharged engine that produces 260-horse power and uses a 5-speed Sentronic automatic transmission, with a 5-speed manual gearbox also available.

Safety and security both are abundant in this model. The standard Traction Control System is designed to distribute drive force to the wheel with the best grip, helping to reduce the risk of slipping when accelerating on slick surfaces. If desired, the system can be switched off.

Other standard safety features include OnStar, tire-pressure monitoring and airbag protection from front and side impact. Children are also protected with lower child-seat anchorage points in the rear outer seats and child-seat top-tether anchors in the rear seats, as well as rear door safety locks.

Aerodynamic headlamps, a bright-finish exhaust tailpipe and color-matched lower bumper and rocker sills add to the sleek appearance of the 9-5 Aero Sedan, while features like 6-jet high-pressure windshield washers and side-mounted direction indicator lamps keep the model a convenient one.

Metallic trim and leather-appointed sport seats with two-tone upholstery move style to the interior, and premium natural leather is optional in this model. The 9-5 Aero Sedan comes standard with an AM/FM radio with nine speakers, MP3 playback capability, satellite radio, and a 6-disc in-dash CD changer. A DVD-based navigation system with a trunk-mounted 6-disc CD changer is optional.

The new 2008 Saab 9-5 Aero Sedan is stylish yet safe, and has a high amount of power for a sedan. It seems to have the best of both worlds.
