The 2008 Toyota Avalon is both innovative and reliable, with several new features that offer safety as well as convenience. Impressive new features include the Avalon’s available Smart Key System, which automatically unlocks its doors as the driver approaches, and also a 6-speed automatic transmission that adjusts to the owner’s driving habits.
The Avalon offers several standard safety features, including front, rear, knee, and side airbags and curtain airbags. Its novel Dynamic Cruise control senses nearby traffic and adjusts the car’s speed appropriately. The Avalon, though sleek, is designed with the family in mind. It comes standard with child-protector rear door locks and Toyota’s rear seat Child Restraint System.
Halogen headlamps, dual rear exhaust outlets, and tinted taillamps help give the Avalon its striking appearance, and the windows are designed with High Solar Energy-Absorbing glass.
Interior comfort is provided by dual zone automatic climate control with air filtration and 60/40 split manually reclining rear seats. The Avalon also comes standard with a digital quartz clock, an AM/FM 6-disc in-dash CD changer, MP3/WMA playback and satellite radio capability, and an in-glass antenna. Bluetooth capability, wireless technology, and a 12-speaker JBL Synthesis sound system are also available.
Toyota includes a multi-function audio, message, climate, and trip computer information display in each Avalon. However, its 268-horse power V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing confirms that the Avalon is fast as well as smart.
Features such as a sound-reducing acoustically engineered windshield and rain-sensing wipers that vary their speed based on rainfall prove that the Avalon represents a new breed of cars.
Toyota’s 2008 Avalon is a car that combines safety, technology, and affordability, making it one of this year’s most appealing new models.
