2008 Toyota Tacoma ReviewThe 2008 Toyota Tacoma is both safe and reliable, with several new features that keep this model a truck suitable for the family, but still adventurous with its off-road capabilities. Impressive new features on the Tacoma include the electronic locking rear differential, which shifts power from the rear to the front when needed, such as in rough terrains.

The 2008 Tacoma offers several standard safety features, including dual front airbags and ABS with electronic brake force distribution, which adjusts braking for better control on the road. Its standard tilt/telescopic steering wheel makes driving less of a task and more of a journey. Though sporty, the Tacoma is designed with the family in mind. It includes child-protector rear door locks and a child restraint system, with top and lower tether anchors.

Fog lamps, color-keyed bumpers, overfenders, grille surround, door handles, power mirrors and body kit make the Tacoma both cosmetic and convenient.

Interior comfort is provided by defroster-linked air conditioning and a 60/40 split rear bench seat with adjustable headrests and under-seat storage. The Tacoma also comes standard with an AM/FM CD system and up to six speakers, and other options include a JBL 6-disc in-dash changer.

Toyota includes LED-illuminated gauges in each Tacoma with speedometer, tachometer, coolant temperature/fuel level gauges and warning light, digital clock and tripmeter. The Tacoma can be as powerful as the driver wants it to be. It comes at two power levels, 159-horse power, 4-cylinder engine or for those desiring more torque, a 236-horse power, V6 engine.

Toyota’s 2008 Tacoma is a vehicle that combines power, safety and reliability, making it possibly a must-have for next year’s Toyota truck-buyer.
