The 2008 Yaris offers several standard safety features, including front, side and rear curtain airbags, and 3-point passenger seatbelt systems. Its novel ABS system with electronic brake force distribution adjusts braking to allow for better control on the road. Added convenience comes with remote controls for keyless entry with a panic feature, and the remote can also be used to open the fuel cap door, hood and trunk.
Halogen headlamps, color-keyed door handles and power outside mirrors contribute to the cosmetics of the Yaris, while integrated fog lamps and intermittent windshield wipers keep this a practical model.
Interior comfort is provided by air conditioning and a 60/40 split, reclining, sliding rear bench seat. The Yaris comes standard with a digital clock and an audio prep package including four speakers, and other options include an AM/FM CD player with WMA/MP3 playback capability, audio jack and LCD display screen. Cruise control and an interior map light also are available.
Toyota includes black-face Optitron speedometer, LCD odometer, twin tripmeters and fuel level gauge in each Yaris. The Yaris drives with its 106-horse power, 4-cylinder engine.
Features like the electronically controlled automatic overdrive, which allows for smoother shifting, show that the Yaris is among a breed of new cars.
Toyota’s 2008 Yaris is a car that combines technology, safety and affordability, making it a likely in-demand model for this year’s buyers.
