2008 Volkswagen Tiguan ReviewAlthough the 2008 Volkswagen Tiguan isn’t yet available in dealerships, there’s plenty to get excited about right now. This “Micro SUV” is packed with driver friendly features and is about as technologically advanced as anything VW has ever come up with.

Owners of the ’08 Tiguan will love the fact that the German engineers at Volkswagen designed the car with obsessive compulsive disorder in mind. There’s literally a place for everything. There are a ton of standard and optional bins and binnacles.

Drivers that like to rock out to their own soundtrack while cruising down the interstate will dig the various musical options found in the cabin. From regular AM/FM radio to satellite and CD, there’s almost nothing beyond the sound system’s capabilities. There’s even an MP3 Aux jack to hook and iPod into!

As for the engine, to say that it’s award winning almost doesn’t seem like enough.
The Tiguan has a 2.0 TSFI four-cylinder that can get as much as 207 pounds per foot of torque, eclipsing every other four-cylinder SUV in its class. It even has 2200 pounds of towing capacity, adding to the Tiguan’s considerable versatility.

Drivers who loathe parallel parking find themselves constantly roaming around in search of a lot will love the rear backup camera. The camera isn’t the only intelligent new addition to the Volkswagen, however. In fact, the navigation system has also been redesigned with the driver in mind and now features a 6.5-inch wide full color touch screen.

That said, the ’08 Volkswagen Tiguan is also an extremely safe car to drive. It also leads its class in fuel efficiency, getting more than 20 miles per gallon on the highway (although exact EPA estimates are not currently available).
