The 2009 Pontiac G3 is setting off for its first outing to the US market in 2009. This entry priced vehicle is very firmly aimed at first time buyers looking for accommodating but no frills transportation. At starting at just $14,995, it’s sure to get some attention.
Most notable for the G3 is its exceptional fuel efficiency, for a car of its size, at least. Pontiac has managed to squeeze 34 MPG on the highway out of this little car, but this primarily thanks to its small 1.6-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine which delivers 106 horsepower with a manual 5-speed transmission.
If you are looking for luxury then the G3 isn’t the car for you, but a decent collection of utilities/entertainment systems are included and optional. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, power steering, front cloth bucket seats, and an AM/FM radio with a single CD player.
Safety features include front driver and passenger airbags and seat-mounted side airbags for the front row occupants. The 2009 Pontiac G3 also claims the most leg and arm room for passengers than any other small car. Not a bad little run about then, with fuel economy and pricing to suit first time buyers, it’s hard to see the G3 not being snapped up by a few savvy drivers come spring 2009.
